Muzaffarpur: Rhitik Raj, nine-year-old son of Motipur-based doctor Sudhir Kumar who was abducted 18 days ago in Bihar’s Muzaffar district was rescued from Farakpur area in Haryana on Friday night by Bihar police with the help of local police and six persons were arrested, police said on Saturday. Superintendent of Police Sudhanshu Kumar said here that Rhitik Raj was abducted by Chandrashewar Shahni, compounder of the doctor on May 26 when he was returning home after attending his classes at Kanti based DAV school. The compounder after abducting the boy had handed him over to the notorious gang of abductors of Munna Shahni and Devendra Shahni active in Motihari, Gopalganj, Saran, Siwan and Gorakhpur district of adjoining Uttar pradesh. The SP said the compounder during the interrogation had admitted that the boy was handed over to the abductors’ gang by him on being assured that he would get Rs.1lakh as his share after receiving the ransom money.- PTI
