KOCHI: The State Bank of Travancore (SBT) will hold a monsoon loan mela at its 140 branches in Ernakulam, Alappuzha and Idukki districts from June 15 to 27. The bank intends to lend Rs.900 crore during 2009-10 through these branches in personal, agricultural and other segments. Special thrust will be given to sanctioning housing, car loans and agricultural loans, according to a bank release. — Special Correspondent Nagarjuna Ayurvedic’s centre in South KoreaKOCHI: The Nagarjuna Ayurvedic group has signed a memorandum of understanding with representatives of the South Korean government for setting up ayurveda centres in that country. It will set up a specialty clinic for allergy within two months in Jinan. Earlier, a foreign delegation visited the group’s ayurveda centre at Kalady, a release said. — Special Correspondent Union Bank’s savings bank melaKOCHI: The Marine Drive branch of Union Bank of India launched a savings bank mela on June 8. The bank offers facility to open accounts on simple terms and conditions. Over 1,500 savings bank accounts have already been opened under the scheme.
