Apart from this, 77 seats would be given under sports quota, of which 25 would be for B. Tech, 22 for MBA and the rest for science and humanities.

He said that all the toppers from 32 districts of Tamil Nadu and five students from poor families would be given free education. P. Sathyanarayanan, Vice-Chancellor, said that from the current academic year the university would be introducing undergraduate courses in nano-technology, infrastructural engineering, nuclear engineering, architectural engineering and fashion technology.
