Four more suspected cases of A(H1N1) flu

HYDERABAD: Passengers with suspected symptoms of A(H1N1) flu continue to get admitted to the Government General and Chest Hospital, Erragadda. On Sunday, four more passengers were admitted to the hospital, taking the total patients admitted with suspected symptoms to eight.

In addition to the eight suspected cases, two positive cases, including that of the six-year-old girl and 20-month-old toddler are also being treated in the isolation wards of the hospital. According to doctors, the children are stable and their samples along with those of the suspected passengers have been sent for testing to the National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD), New Delhi.

IVRS facility

Meanwhile, on Monday, Minister for Medical and Health Danam Nagender will inaugurate an exclusive Interactive Voice Response (IVRS) facility on A(H1N1) flu. The IVRS facility will provide every bit of information and clarify doubts among the general public with regard to the flu.

The IVRS is being developed by the CEO of Voicegate Technologies Syed Mohammad, whose son recently recovered from A(H1N1) flu. The content for the IVRS system was provided by State Coordinator for Influenza A (H1N1) flu virus K. Subhakar.

To begin with, the IVRS facility would be available only for BSNL customers, officials disclosed. Another SMS facility will also be launched by the Minister on Monday. When the user sends an SMS, he will be given important phone numbers of all top medical authorities who are directly dealing with A(H1N1) flu, authorities informed.
