Male child found abandoned

A three-day-old male child was found abandoned amid bushes in a village near Palladam on Sunday.

On being informed of the public about this, Childline, an organisation that rescued children in distress, brought the child to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital.

It had some scratches on the body, apparently sustained while being abandoned in the bushes. The child was being taken care of in the paediatrics ward, Resident Medical Officer P. Sivaprakasam said.
