“Address flat owners’ concerns on BPS”

VISAKHAPATNAM: The issues raised by owners of flats under the leadership of Visakhapatnam Apartment Residents’ Welfare Association (VARWA) should be addressed by the State Government in view of the high court judgment on the building penalisation scheme (BPS), MLA M.V.S. Sarma has said.

Addressing a meeting of apartment residents organised by the VARWA here on Sunday, he said issues raised by the association with regard to penalisation and double penalisation were mentioned for a debate by the court.

The State Government should bring BPS within the reach of flat owners. so that maximum number of people could make use of it, Mr. Sarma said. VARWA President Ch.L.N. Sastry presided. General secretary A.V. Ramana Rao spoke on the details comprising the high court judgment. Flat owners should work united for implementation of positive features in the judgment, he said.
