Pakistan is now facing the terror attacks by Taliban and every second day there is a bomb blast, killings and mass killings by the extremists of Taliban, which is a matter for great concern. As India is immediate neighbour to Pakistan and every possibility is there that a threat from Taliban is offing to India and Indian troops will have to watch carefully about the movements of extremists coming to that country and extra vigil is required to stop the intruders. Further the President of Pakistan in his recent statement stating that every possibility is there to occupy the nuclear button by the Taliban people and he appealed to the world community specially U.S to help stop this menace created by Taliban, who are well occupied in Swat valley and trying to enter into the other parts of the country. It is astonishing that the country that has fought with the biggest country like India three times and defeated, created a Kargil war and again defeated are now helpless before the Taliban extremists and they are seeking help. Actually those who created and supported terrorism have themselves now become targets of the terror groups and are now in a helpless situation. To gain more funds from U.S in the name of combating terror groups is also other reason to show their helplessness. The U.S should watch carefully the assistance extended to Pakistan is properly utilised, then only the purpose of U.S is solved and the region will be free from extremism. S.R.Krishna Berhampur Appeal to Capital City policeTo a large extent, Bhubaneswar police seem to be ignorant about their duties and responsibilities. Even though their primary job was to do policing to maintain law and order in their respective areas of duty, they are largely concentrating their efforts to prevention of violation of traffic rules. They simply forget that instead of helping the traffic police alone in taking action against erring drivers, they should also move around in their areas of jurisdiction to keep an eye on other criminals. The police in the Capital City are always seen sitting in their respective police station. They go in for work only after they get complaints regarding any crime. One feels that if they should go round their area of duty so that they could prevent a host of crimes. Nobody would oppose the city police in taking on the violators of traffic rules, but would the police ever be conscious of the fact if their presence on the roads could reduce traffic rule violation their presence off the roads could also help in checking the crime rate.
