Ailing: Chikungunya patients in a hospital at Aladahalli in Shimoga taluk on Monday. Shimoga: As many as 32 chikungunya and 10 dengue cases were reported in the district till date. According to reports from the Health Department of the 10 cases of chikungunya in Sorab and Sagar taluks, two in Hosnagar taluk and eight in Shimoga taluk were registered and nine cases of dengue were reported in Shikaripur taluk and one each in Sorab, Hosnagar and Shimoga taluks. Further testsBlood samples from villagers of Aladahalli, Bannikere and Kommanal in Shimoga taluk were examined and 50 patients were suffering from fever and eight cases tested positive for chikungunya. Primary treatment was being given to 13 patients at the Government School in Kommanal. PrecautionAccording to District Health Officer Thippesh all precautionary measures were being taken up in the district to control the disease and the department officials were operating wiftly in the district to trace it and create awareness among people. Shimoga MP B.Y. Raghavendra, Shimoga Rural MLA K.G.Kumaraswamy, DHO Dr. Thippesh others officials visited the hospital.
