Gang escapes with car

Tirupur: A gang of four persons ‘hijacked’ a taxi at Kundadam, near here, on Sunday. According to police, the gang hired the car at Coimbatore railway station under the pretext of going to Tiruchi.
En-route, they tied the driver Raj Kumar and pushed him out of the car in front of the Kundadam power house.
They then escaped with the car.
The Kundadam police have launched a manhunt for the four persons.
Two killed in accident
A motorcyclist was killed when his vehicle collided with a car at Alangiam, near here, on Sunday. Police said the deceased had been identified as P. Nagaraj (29).
Two passengers in the car sustained injuries and were admitted to Udumalpet GH.
In another incident, M. Karthikeyan (25) died after he fell down while attempting to board a bus at Old Bus Stand here on Sunday.
