Varsity teachers want anomaly rectified

Staff Reporter

CHENNAI: Anticipating revision of pay scales for college teachers, the Association of University Teachers, Tiruchi Zone, has requested Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi to address two issues before implementation of the revisions.

In a release issued on Sunday, the association highlighted an anomaly in the career advancement scheme in the previous pay revision.

The association requested that all teachers who became Lecturers Selection Grade/Readers between January 1, 1996 and July 27, 1998, (both dates included) be granted an additional increment on January 1, 2006, as per the revised pay scales.
