PCC, DCC chiefs discuss strategy for GHMC polls

Staff Reporter

DCC chief to list out ‘winning’ candidates under ‘select and elect’ process

SANGAREDDY: District Congress Committee (DCC) president and Patancheru legislator T. Nandeeswar Goud on Tuesday met Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president D. Srinivas at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad.

The respective presidents discussed about the party strategy for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to be held in August.

Two divisions of the GHMC fall under the Medak district and the DCC president would be responsible for the selection of candidates.

It was decided that the DCC president will prepare a list of the ‘winning horses’ and submit it to the PCC president at the meeting scheduled for June 26.

The candidates would be picked up under ‘select and elect’ process, which is being followed by the PCC president for the past few years. The finalised list by the DCC, would be forwarded to the PCC for approval.

The process would be initiated by Mr. Nandeeswar Goud later this week.
