Humpy loses

NEW DELHI: Second seeded Bulgarian Grandmaster ended K. Humpy’s resistance in 78 moves to emerge as the leader after three rounds of the Ruy Lopez memorial chess tournament at Zafra, Spain, on Monday.

The results: Third round: Ivan Cheparinov (Bul, 2.5) bt K. Humpy (1.5); Pia Cramling (Swe, 1.5) lost to Michael Adams (Eng, 2); Manuel Perez Candelario (Esp, 1.5) bt David Larino Neito (Esp, 1); Fabiano Caruana (Ita, 1) bt Julio Granda Zuniga (Per, 1).
