JD(U) appeal for relief to Tamils

The Janata Dal (United), Tamil Nadu has appealed to the Centre to exert pressure on the Sri Lankan Government to take steps to provide relief to the affected Tamils in the island nation and ensure their peaceful stay in the places they had resided earlier.

A resolution to this effect was adopted at the party’s State executive committee meeting held in the city on Saturday. The meeting was presided over by its State president Ka. Rajasekaran.

By another resolution, the party urged the State Government to eradicate liquor which was affecting youth.
