Rivals come to understanding

Correspondent

MAHBUBNAGAR: Staunch rivals - Telugu Desam MLA from Nagarkurnool, Nagam Janardhan Reddy and former Congress Minister G. Chinna Reddy have decided to bury the hatchet for the present and decided to withdraw the defamation cases they filed against each other.

On Tuesday, the duo filed petitions before the District First Sessions Court.

Admitting both the petitions, the Judge, Ashok Kumar advised

Mr. Chinna Reddy to withdraw the case that he filed before the High Court, as the lower court cannot take up cases when it is pending before the High Court. The Judge gave time to the petitioner to withdraw the case before June 22.

It may be mentioned that in the year 2002, Mr. Chinna Reddy filed a defamation suit against Mr. Janardhan Reddy for degrading his doctorate degree.

In retaliation Mr. Janardhan Reddy filed a defamation case for making derogatory remarks against him.

However, Mr. Chinna Reddy, while he was a minister, obtained a stay order on the case against him.
