Eye screening camp held

TIRUCHI: A free eye screening camp was organised by Regional Transport Office and Vasan Eye Hospital here on Monday. The day-long camp conducted at the Regional Transport Office in Pirattiyur here was inaugurated by Deputy Transport Commissioner, Tiruchi S. Kanagaraj. A total number of 192 persons were screened during the course of the camp of which 54 were found with visual problems. Six were recommended surgery.
Regional Transport Officer M. Natarajan spoke about road rules, driving without accident and the need for periodic eye check and medical checkup for vehicle-users. Regional Transport Officers of Perambalur, Srirangam and Karur besides Motor Vehicle Inspectors participated in the camp, a press release issued here said.
