Vigilance panel holds meet
VIZIANAGARAM: Members of the district Vigilance and Monitoring Committee has laid stress on continuous internal assessment of works done for the benefit of people.
At a meeting of the committee that was chaired by Botcha Jhansi Lakshmi, MP and Chairman of the panel, on Wednesday, P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju, MLA, quoting rule book of the committee, felt that continuous monitoring would help check diversion of funds, wrong selection of beneficiaries and misappropriation of grants. “We will be working against transparency if the transparency anticipated on fund utilisation and quality was not maintained,” he said. Collector G. Ram Narayana Reddy said that tahsildars and MPDOs were issued instructions to step up vigilance and also inform people about the works being executed for their benefit.
