Yohan triumphs

KOCHI: J. Yohan of Government Model High School (Palakuzha) won the Ann Homes Trophy Ernakulam district senior chess championship at the Cochin University.

Yohan, who upset many seasoned players in the event, finished with 6.5 points from eight rounds.

“He is 15 and is the youngest-ever player to win the district title,” said M. S. Ananthakrishnan, the Chess Association Ernakulam secretary. K.A. Unas (6.5 points) took the second spot.
