CHENNAI: Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL) has joined hands with Sankara Nethralaya to implement a comprehensive eye care project for the benefit of people living in Manali and neighbouring areas.
As a first step towards this, CPCL contributed Rs.10 lakh to Medical Research Foundation of Sankara Nethralaya for conducting 10 eye camps this year.
A press release said CPCL’s managing director K.K. Acharya handed over the cheque to the foundation’s chairman L.Gopal at a function in the city on Friday.
A team of optometrists would screen the people for various eye disorders such as cataract, diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma.
Further treatment would be provided based on the diagnosis. Sankara Nethralaya’s president and chairman emeritus S.S. Badrinath participated in the function.
