CNG price hiked

Staff reporter

NEW DELHI: Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has increased the price of compressed natural gas in the Capital from Rs.18.90 per kg to Rs.21 per kg. In a statement, IGL Managing Director Rajesh Vedvyas said the company was forced to raise the price after three years owing to an increase in overall input costs of natural gas sourced by IGL and rise in operating expenses.

According to Mr. Vedvyas, only half of the total increase in operating expenses had been passed on to consumers while the remaining expenses would be borne by the company.
