Giridih (Jharkhand): A junior engineer of public health department and a line inspector were taken into captivity on Thursday by villagers protesting against inadequate water supply in Makatpur village of Giridih district. They confined junior engineer B Upadhaya and line inspector Devki Prasad for about four hours claiming that the administration has failed to provide at least three hours of water supply as assured, official sources said. The officials were freed after the executive engineer, who visited the spot, assured them of three hours’ water supply.
