Deadline set for removal of pigs

Special Correspondent

CUDDALORE: Collector R. Palanisamy has set a deadline of one week for removal of all pigs from the Cuddalore municipal areas.

In a statement released here, he said that pigs were seen straying into residential areas within the municipality limits and bus stands, posing health hazards.

Breeders have been told to take the animals away from the municipal limits in a week, failing which action would be taken under Section 241 of the Tamil Nadu Municipalities Act 1994, the statement said.
