SP assumes office

NAMAKKAL: A. Pari assumed office as the new Superintendent of Police of Namakkal district here on Thursday.

A native of Karur district, he earlier served as Superintendent of Police in Dindigul district. He succeeded Vidya D. Kulkarni, who was transferred recently.

Mr. Pari told reporters that patrolling would be strengthened across the district to bring down the crime rate. A special control room would be opened at the Namakkal bus stand. Efforts would be made to minimise the number of accidents on the NH - 7.
