‘Hoarding rampant in Kurnool’

Special Correspondent

KURNOOL: Balasubramanyam, DIG of Vigilance and Enforcement, has sought for the cooperation of revenue and other departments to check large scale hoarding of foodgrains in Kurnool district. Addressing a meeting of revenue and civil supplies officials, attended by Collector M. K. Meena and Joint Collector P.V.Reddy here on Wednesday, he said, the revenue personnel had to carefully record the correct data of cropped area and yield to put an end to the menace.

He said Kurnool was one of the few districts where hoarding was rampant. The traders were changing their strategies by keeping the stocks in the name of farmers. He called for village-wise records to arrive at the actual size of crop so that stocks in the godowns could be compared.
