Cell phones seized for prison premises

Coimbatore: In a search conducted in the Coimbatore Central Prison on Thursday, five cellular phones and chargers were found near the prison hospital premises. Prison officials stumbled upon a cover containing the phones and the chargers and have instituted an inquiry.

In the wake of the recent murder at Puzhal Central Prison in Chennai, ADG (Prison),had ordered surprise checks at Central Prisons.
