Bangalore: The Karnataka Government on Thursday permitted the Bangalore Turf Club to temporarily hold its racing activities at the Mysore Race Course until it relocates the venue to another site on the outskirts of the city. At a meeting chaired by Chief Minister B. S. Yeddyurappa in which BTC officials were also invited, it was categorically told that the government was in no mood to extend the lease of the land given to BTC beyond December 31, 2009. “BTC has agreed to abide by the government decision. The government is committed to allot land for developing race course near Bangalore International Airport,” Yeddyurappa said. District authorities have been directed to provide the required support to the BTC to conduct racing in Mysore, he added. — PTI
