Print expo gets under way

HI-TECH: Latest equipment in the field of printing are on display at ‘Print Expo 2009’ in Chennai.

CHENNAI: A four-day exhibition of printing, print finishing and converting machinery, ‘Print Expo 2009,’ got under way at Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam, on Thursday.

A total of 82 exhibitors representing 128 companies are participating in the exhibition that is intended to showcase the best of modern technology available for printers , according to Ashok Neelkant, Managing Director, Intel Trade Fairs and Expositions Pvt. Ltd., which is organising the exhibition.

Leading names in printing machinery industry such as Xerox and Welbound Worldwide are displaying their products.

Digital printers, screen printing machines, binding machines, laminating machines, printing ink, and variable data printing equipment form part of the display.

“The expo is the only such effort here this year and will provide printers a solution to their business needs and help them to establish contact with suppliers and industry experts,” Mr. Neelkant said. P. Chander, vice-president, All India Federation of Master Printers, inaugurated the exhibition.
