KADAPA: Kadapa district topped in Indiramma housing by completing 1.51 lakh houses out of 2.55 lakh houses sanctioned in the district, Minister for Minority Welfare Mohd. Ahmedullah said on Friday. He addressed a review meeting with Housing, Medical and Health, Education, Roads and Buildings and Minority Welfare officials at the State guest house here. Briefing newsmen after the review meeting, he said 11,252 houses were constructed in a month’s time and directed officials to ensure completion of at least 50 per cent of houses in each mandal. Officials told the Minister that 648 housing units costing Rs. 1.31 lakh each were completed in Indiranagar satellite township and 400 applications were received so far. He directed Kadapa RDO P. Ranjit Basha to expeditiously allot land for the Indiramma housing colony at Cherlopalle. He assured sanction of Rs. 30,000 more to beneficiaries of 744 houses in Mamillapalle housing colony within a fortnight. The Minister directed the Medical and Health officials to take steps to prevent outbreak of contagious diseases. Officials said DDT was sprayed in 400 villages. Malaria cases were detected in Devapatla, Brahmamgari Matham and Vallur mandals. Officials said 15 chikungunya cases and 936 malaria cases were detected this year as against 1,930 cases last year. Under Rajiv Arogyasri, 6,150 cases were referred to corporate hospitals and 850 persons were operated upon at an expenditure of Rs. 29.65 crore. Under Badibata, 18,965 children were enrolled in schools and 12,644 more children were yet to be enrolled. Eight teams were conducting raids with the cooperation of Labour officials and enrolling child labourers in residential bridge centres. . Mr. Ahmedullah directed Roads and Buildings officials to widen road works within 60 days, except those pending in courts. MLC P. Subba Reddy, Kodur MLA K. Srinivasulu, Joint Collector M. Girijasankar, District Manager of Housing Ramasubbu, Rajiv Vidya Mission Project Officer Ramesh Kumar, R & B SE Chandrasekhara Reddy, Minority Welfare Officer Parvez Ahmed and Executive Director of Minorities Corporation Sapthagiri also participated.
