Wild elephant electrocuted

Tiruvannamalai: A 10-year-old elephant was electrocuted in the Jawadu hills on Friday. A herd was moving along the elephant corridor between the Veerappanur Reserve Forest and Nallappattu Reserve Forest when the elephant came into contact with an 11 KV electric line.

Conservator of Forests, Vellore, A.V.Venkatachalam, and District Forest Officer, Tiruvannamalai, R.Rajendran visited the spot and recovered the tusks. — Staff Reporter
