We will give serious thought to banning Maoists: Buddhadeb

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee said on Saturday that his government would give a “serious thought” to the Centre’s suggestion to ban the CPI (Maoists).

“Home Minister P. Chidamabaram advised me to ban this organisation. We have to give it a serious thought. We have started thinking what to do,” he told reporters here after meeting Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Mr. Chidambaram.
