ISKCON to celebrate the festival on

June 24

Unique musical concert ‘Revival’ to be presented


HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad branch of ISKCON located at Abids is celebrating the 19th annual ‘Sri Jagannatha Ratha Yatra’ festival with pomp and gusto on June 24. The yatra begins from RTC ‘X’ Roads at 1 p.m. and proceeds via Chikkadpally, Narayanguda, Badichowdi, Sultan Bazaar, Koti, Putlibowli ‘X’ Road, M.J. Market, Abids circle to reach Lalitha Kala Thoranam, Public Gardens at 6.30 p.m.

The devotees will offer their choicest services from lamps to ‘chappan bhog’ and will also have the opportunity to perform ‘aarti’. Also, the devotees of lord Krishna here, for the first time, will get an opportunity to witness the unique musical concert ‘Revival’ from members of the society. This 90-minute programme is a unique blend of Indian classical music and the Gaudiya Vaishnava philosophy, according to a release from the ISKCON.

For the 6 km-long, non-stop ratha yatra, more than 1,50,000 devotees are expected to participate and about five tonnes of prasadam is being readied, ISKCON stated.
