Techie tests positive for swine flu
HYDERABAD: One more person who travelled to the city from New York on Air-India flight last week has tested positive for influenza A (H1N1) flu virus on Saturday while one more person with suspected symptoms has been admitted to the Government General and Chest Hospital.
The case of positive confirmation received pertains to 32-year-old software professional who arrived in the city on June 13 and developed symptoms two days later. He was admitted to the hospital on Thursday. The other members of his family were also being provided preventive treatment, K. Subhakar, State Co-ordinator for influenza A (H1N1), flu virus informed.
On Friday night, another person who travelled from Ghana reported at the hospital with suspected symptoms. He had arrived in city on Monday and his samples were sent for analysis. “As of now, we have at the hospital three cases that have tested positive and reports are awaited in one case,” Dr. Subhakar added. With today’s confirmation, the total number of positive cases reported in the city rose to 15.
