KARIMNAGAR: Several sportspersons and corporators led by local legislator G. Kamalakar staged dharna in front of the Collectorate here on Sunday protesting against the allocation of Circus Grounds to conduct exhibition and denying the playground to sportspersons and walkers in the town.

Due to lack of a playground, sportspersons were forced to practice outdoor games such as volleyball and football on the roads, they said, adding that throughout the year the Circus Grounds was occupied by various organisations for holding exhibitions, meetings and other programmes denying the playground to them.

Besides, these exhibitions and other programmes cause traffic jams at the busy Indira Chowk, which is located in the heart of the town
