Dattatreya seeks 2,500 crore for SCR

HYDERABAD: State BJP president and former Union Minister of State for Railways Bandaru Dattatreya has ‘requested’ Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee to allot Rs.2,500 crore for the South Central Railway in the 2009-10 budget.

In a letter addressed to the Minister, he said although SCR contributed a huge amount to the national rail network it was ‘invariably’ discriminated against in terms of budgetary allocations and introduction of new trains or launch of railway lines. He made several proposals , including setting up of a coach factory at Kazipet.
