Woman killed in accident

CHENNAI: An elderly pedestrian died on the spot after being knocked down by an MTC bus near Vadapalani on Sunday evening. A teenager who was severely injured in the accident is admitted to a hospital.
According to Guindy traffic investigations, the route 170 P bus plying from Pattabiram to Tambaram, hit the victim Gnanambal (60) of Red Hills, while she was crossing the road along with her acquaintance Jesudas (16). The two were on their way back to Red Hills after visiting Gnanambal’s daughter at her home in Amman Kovil Street, Vadapalani. Jesudas suffered head injures and was admitted to the Government General Hospital, police added.
