China tests A(H1N1) vaccine

BEIJING: Laboratory tests began on China’s A(H1N1) flu vaccine on Monday.

The vaccine is expected to hit the markets in September after 14 days of safety tests and two months of clinical tests from July, said Fan Bei, deputy general manager of Hualan Biological Engineering Inc. based in Henan Province.

The company produced a first batch of 90,000 doses and would be able to make 6,00,000 doses a day once it was approved, said Ms. Fan. — Xinhua
