Three children drown in village tank

MAHABUBNAGAR: Three children drowned in a village tank at Lay Mamidi village in Keshampet mandal on Monday evening.

According to sources, Naveen Kumar, a Class VII student and his brother Praveen Kumar of Class IV along with another boy of Class IV also named Naveen went for a swim in the tank adjacent to the village after finishing school.

They had also asked Anil Kumar to join them, but he told them that he would join later.

After some time Anil went to the tank and found the clothes of his friends on the tank bund, but they were not to be seen.

He rushed to the village and informed Naveen’s parents.

The villagers rushed to the tank and retrieved the bodies of the three boys. Though they did not know swimming they ventured into the tank.

MLA visits

Shadnagar MLA Ch. Pratap Reddy visited the village and consoled the bereaved families.

ASI of Keshampet police station Khaleel Khan registered a case.
