Pradeep and Bhuvana post wins

VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh’s K. Pradeep Reddy defeated Y. Akhil Reddy 6-1, 6-0, while Delhi’s K. Bhuvana beat AP’s Mirnalini 7-6(1), 6-2 in the first round of the AITA super series u-16 tournament for boys and girls here on Monday.

West takes lead

West Zone took a first innings lead of 108 runs against All India Universities (AIU) on the penultimate day of the four-day NCA u-19 inter-zonal tournament.

The scores: West Zone 328 and 135 for four in 68 overs (A. Barot 69, H. Solanki 56 batting) vs. All India Universities 220 in 76.2 overs (Ajmer Singh 83, R. Shetty 53, Jaidev five for 63, Harmit Singh three for 57).

Innings win for Guntur

Guntur defeated Prakasam by an innings and eight runs in the ACA Central Zone u-19 inter-district tournament here on Monday.

The scores: Guntur 228 bt Prakasam 140 and 80 (B. Sudhakar seven for 25).

Krishna 203 and 75 for no loss (Krishna Babu 50 n.o.) bt West Godavari 181 and 116 (Krishna Teja three for 21, K. Harish three for 26).
