This Day That Age
Tributes to the services rendered by the late Mr. Kasturi Srinivasan to the cause of journalism have come in from all parts of the country and abroad. President Rajendra Prasad, Vice-President Radhakrishnan, Prime Minister Nehru, Union Home Minister Pant, and Mr. C. Rajagopalachari are among those who have sent messages of condolence to the bereaved family. President Rajendra Prasad said: “I feel much grieved to know of the death of Sri Kasturi Srinivasan, Editor of The Hindu, who was not only a leading journalist, but also in his own sphere a public man widely respected for his sincerity of purpose and patriotism. The Indian newspaper world has lost in the death of Sri Kasturi Srinivasan a fearless journalist and a man of deep convictions. I would like to send my condolence to the bereaved family.” The Prime Minister, Mr. Jawaharlal Nehru, had conveyed through Mr. Bishnuram Medhi, Governor of Madras, his message of condolence to the members of the family of Mr. K. Srinivasan. The Prime Minister’s message says: The death of such a distinguished journalist is a loss not only to The Hindu, but also to the Press generally and to public life.” In conveying this message, Mr. Bishnuram Medhi has added his own personal expression of sympathy.
