LUCKNOW: The Pilibhit police are preparing to file a charge-sheet against the BJP Member of Parliament Varun Gandhi in connection with the alleged hate speech delivered by him in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections. According to ADG (Law and Order) Brij Lal, permission has been sought from the Uttar Pradesh Government under Section 153 A of the Indian Penal Code to prosecute Mr. Gandhi. The fresh initiative by the Pilibhit police comes in the wake of the report of the Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Chandigarh, which reportedly said that the voice in the CD containing the alleged hate speech was that of Mr. Gandhi. Hel refused to comment on the contents of the FSL report, stating that the matter is sub judice. Mr. Lal said the recording by a television news channel, microchip of a mobile phone and a film shot by a handy-cam were sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory for examination on court orders.
