Gurukul lands: status quo ordered

Hyderabad: A Division Bench of A. P. High Court comprising Chief Justice Anil Ramesh Dave and Justice Ramesh Ranganathan on Thursday ordered status quo regarding regularisation of Gurukul Trust lands around HITEC City. These interim orders were passed in a writ petition filed by P.Chandrasena Reddy who appeared as party in person. He said these are Trust lands and the GPA, etc. in the name of a housing society are sham. He complained that in the guise of regularisation, the authorities are ‘regularising’ all illegal activities. He said that these lands are worth a fortune and the encroachers cannot be given any benefit when these are Trust lands and the government cannot confer any benefit.
The Bench adjourned the matter by three weeks and ordered status quo.
