CHENNAI: Over 220 of the best sailors (men and women) are expected from Europe and the rest of the world to compete in the 2009 European Sailing Championship to be held at Charlottenlund in Denmark. Royal Madras Yacht Club sailors, Ajay Rau and Rohini Rau make up the Indian challenge at this championship. The siblings have been in good form this year. Rohini made history becoming the first Indian woman to win a bronze medal at an Olympic level regatta (Izola Spring Cup) in April while Ajay finished 3rd in the men’s radial in the Asia Pacific Championship and first in the National Australian University Regatta. Both are being coached by Olympian Allen Julie of Seychelles.
