Rain brings respite

VIZIANAGARAM: To the respite of denizens of the district, rain accompanied by strong gale lashed the entire region in the early hours of Thursday. The average rainfall recorded was 37.1 mm with Balijipeta registering the highest rainfall of 71.4 mm. The lowest rainfall registered was 12.2 mm at Vepada.

The strong gales uprooted a tree near Ramabhadrapuram police station and fell across NH-43 and also on Vizianagaram-Salur Road. As a result vehicular traffic on these roads was hit for over two hours.
