NELLORE: The Endowments Department issued orders to all major devasthanams in Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore district to perform ‘varuna japams’ and ‘Sahasra Ghatabhishekams’ for getting rains. According to the official sources, instructions have been given to the executive officers of 380 temples in the district to perform ‘varuna japams’ for three days from June 24. The temple managements will arrange priests and chant ‘japams’ for about six hours a day. ‘Sahasra Ghatabhishekams’ will be performed in Sri Bhuvaneswari Sametha Mulastaneswara Swamy temple and Sri Malleswara Swamy temple, Nellore.
