Will the heavens open up?

Will the Gods oblige? Well, this question is on everybody’s mind in the city as elsewhere.

Even the authorities have swung into action deciding to hold official State-sponsored ceremonies to evoke the blessings of the god of rain. With time running out pretty fast, everyone in the State is seeking divine intervention.

One must also remember that there is still a lot of hope. In Hyderabad and elsewhere, the southwest monsoon picks up momentum only by the end of June and initial stages of July. The rains, if they happen, will peak in August and continue into September. Will the God bail us out?
