Aavin to sell fresh cow milk

MADURAI: The Madurai Aavin will start selling a new product — fresh cow milk — from July 1. This will greatly benefit the public, particularly the elderly and children, an official press release said.

The new milk product would have fat content of 3.5 per cent and 8.5 per cent SNF (solids not fat) component. While the cost of the new product in Aavin outlets would be Rs. 4 for 200 ml, it would be Rs. 9.50 for 500 ml sachets. However, for Aavin cardholders, the 500 ml sachet would cost Rs. 9.

Outlining the current overall sales figures, the release said it stood at 1.96 lakh litres a day.
