BANGALORE: The city police on Thursday arrested a peon working for Mewa Pre-University College in the much-publicised leakage of some Bangalore University question papers that hit the headlines on June 20. The Tilak Nagar police said Ashwatnarayana (33) had colleted Rs. 3,000 from each student for giving the question-cum-answer paper of Financial Accounting (II) of B. Com Fourth Semester. Of the Rs. 3,000, he was keeping Rs. 500 and giving the remaining amount to Mohan, a clerk in the college. The police are searching for Mohan. Chain snatchingThe Upparpet police have arrested Babu (28) of Honnanayakanahalli for his alleged involvement in several cases of theft, including five related to snatching of chains. The police have recovered 140 grams of gold ornaments, seven mobile phones, a luxury car and a motorcycle. Cases against Babu were registered in Kengeri and in Vidyaranyapura and Devaraj police stations in Mysore. The City Market police arrested Ramesh (26) and Lokesh (19) for their alleged involvement in several cases of vehicle thefts in the city.
