India women in final

NEW DELHI: India defeated Ukraine 2-1 to book a berth in the final of the women’s Champions Challenge II hockey tournament at Kazan, Russia, on Friday.

Rani Rampal (sixth minute) and Saba Anjum (23rd) scored a goal apiece as India enjoyed a 2-0 lead at the half-time of the semifinal match. Nataliya Vasyukova (44th) reduced the margin for Ukraine.

In the title clash on Saturday, India will meet the winner of the semis clash between Ireland and Belgium.
