CPI(M): “first cruel gift to Aam Aadmi”

K.V. Prasad

NEW DELHI: Left parties on Wednesday said the government showed its contempt for Parliament by hiking the prices of petrol and diesel on the eve of a session, and demanded its withdrawal on grounds that it was both “unjustified and unwarranted.”

Strongly opposing the hike, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) said the international prices of crude oil were still much lower than when at their peak last year. In a statement, the Polit Bureau said these price hikes would have a cascading impact, leading to all-round price rise.
