KARIMNAGAR: The district administration has taken up construction of a model colonies for the relief and rehabilitation of land oustees of Mid Manair Dam (MMD) reservoir in Nampally and Marupaka villages near Vemulawada temple shrine. The Shabashpalli village land oustees would be rehabilitated at Nampalli village with the construction of model colony at a cost of Rs 4.90 crore. The administration had identified 37.34 acres of land for the construction of houses in 275 plots. The Gurravanipalli villagers would be rehabilitated at Marupaka village at a cost of Rs 3 crore with the construction of houses 247 plots in 26.3 acres of land. Collector Sandeep Kumar Sultania visited the construction site of model colonies on Thursday and inspected the works. He directed the authorities to expedite the works. He said that they were laying internal roads, drainage, school buildings, temples, Gram Panchayat office, water tank and other amenities in the model colonies. He also informed the authorities to hand over the plots to the beneficiaries and erect the display board about the allocation of plots and layout of the colony. Joint Collector Ch Vijay Mohan, Sircilla RDO Balaji Ranjith Prasad and others were also present.
