State vindictive towards Kovvur MLA, says TDP

Correspondent

VIZIANAGARAM: The district committee of Telugu Desam Party on Thursday staged a dharna in front of the Collector’s Office in protest against the government’s alleged vindictive attitude towards Kovvur MLA T.V. Rama Rao.

Party Polit Bureau member and MLA P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju, who participated in the protest, said that the government ordered CBCID inquiry and registered cases even after forensic and other official reports confirmed that the stains on walls were not blood marks.

“We visited the hostel and found nothing incriminating,” he said.

Former district president of the party Y. Ramana Murty said that the Chief Minister had been misusing his powers only to browbeat legislators of opposition parties, particularly the TDP.

He also took exception to police entering women’s hostels of the college at night for questioning the inmates.
